Do I replace tyres with the same size tyres?Never choose a smaller size than those that came with the car. Tyres should always be replaced with the same size designation (or approved options) as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
Bought two tyres, should they be put on the front or rear?Never mix radial and bias-ply tyres on the same axle. When you select a pair of replacement tyres in the same size and construction as those on the car, we recommend you put them on the rear axle. A single new tyre should be paired on the rear axle with the tyre having the most tread depth of the other three. We will advise you where necessary - trust us to ensure safety and durability.
What does the speed rating mean? The speed rating is marked on the side of the tyre and indicates the maximum speed at which the tyre can carry the load corresponding with its load index.
Does the price include tyre fitting? All our prices for tyres includes fitting, a new rubber valve and wheel balancing. We do not charge to dispose of the old tyre.
Do you charge for casing disposal? No, our prices include the disposal of your old tyre. We use selected government registered environmental disposal companies to dispose of the old casing.
When should my tyres be replaced? The legal limit for the tread of the tyre is 1.6mm across ¾ of the tread pattern. Your tyre should be replaced if any of the following defects are visible:

What is the correct tyre pressure for my new car tyres?Tyre Pressure levels are crucial not only to the longevity of your tyres, but to your personal safety when using your car.
Cars with incorrect Tyre Pressure can be subject to decreased grip and increased braking distances. By using your car with incorrect tyre pressures, you are also increasing the likelihood of damaging your tyres and wheels. Most cars will have a different recommended tyre pressure level for the front tyres and the back tyres. Can you fit low profile tyres?Yes we can. Our technicians are capable of fitting tyres with a profile as low as 25. We are equipped with low entry jacks, which easily glide under the skirts of any sports car.
Do you fit motorcycle tyres?Do you fit motorcycle tyres?
We are able to fit motorcycle tyres on advance request only, please call our reception desk to find out if we meet your requirements. What happens to my old tyre?We dispose of your old tyre, using carefully selected tyre disposal companies. The old tyres are sent to remould manufacturers or used in road construction, as fuel in power stations or even sometimes used for sea defences. At Wynnes Motors the protection of the environment is a major concern and we dispose of your scrap tyres in the most ecologically friendly way possible.
How do you balance the wheels?
We are equipped with an sophisticated electronic balancing machine, capable of balancing 8" to 26.5" diameter wheels.
What balancing weights do you use?We use the correct weights for your car. All weights are made of zinc which is much safer than lead from an environmental point of view. Alloy wheels are balanced using coated or stick-on weights, which are either clipped on the wheel rim or stuck to the inside of the wheel. High performance wheels usually require stick-on weights which are not visible from the outside, ensuring your wheels always look their best.
Can my puncture be repaired? Most probably, yes. But there are British Standard guidelines that we have to adhere to. All our vans carry a BSAU 159 Standards Gauge. If the puncture is in side-wall of the tyre it cannot be repaired but if this is the case our tyre technician will show you and advise accordingly.
What is the cost of a puncture repair? The charge for repairing a tyre puncture is £18 for normal tyre and £21 for flat tyre.
